Always Seeking Adventure

About ME. It’s not really fun writing about myself, writing about adventure stories is SO much more funner. Yeah, funner.

Bullet Version:

• I’ve backpacked every continent.

• I usually wilderness backpack a few hundred miles a year, probably 2/3 of those are solo (solo by choice).

• I’ve day hiked 30+ miles in a day. Thanks to East Bay Regional Parks!

• I have a few motorcycles (but they’re all different genre’s so it’s totally justifiable or so I tell myself).

• I’ve had to fight a bear for my backpack. Lucily I won but bear-ily. Haha! Pun intended.

• I didn’t break bones till my 30’s. Either my bones are getting weaker or it’s a sign that I am just not made to ride dirt bikes. I vote weak bones.

• I’m actually pretty quiet UNTIL you get me started on an outdoorsy topic, then I could go on for days and days and days.

Wordy Version:

BOOTS, BIKES, BOATS AND BACKPACKS.

All I think about is what trip to do next and how rad it would be if I could make a living at this. I didn’t grow up in an outdoorsy family, I had to find it myself. I discovered backpacking via a friend convincing me to join Search and Rescue out of high school. Then when I was around 23ish, two of my friends and I went backpacking in Europe together for 5 weeks and it was SO epic. This was the gateway drug to a life that is never quite satisfied with enough adventure.

After that trip, I decided I was going to backpack every continent, then I added on - every continent in one passport, then I further narrowed it to…every continent in one passport before I turn 30. One continent a year. I’m not sure how but somehow I managed to do it, extatic to slide into my 7th continent a few weeks before my 30th birthday.

Since then, I have started combining for multisport adventures. Motorcycles are a big part of my life as well. Throw my bicycle on the back of the motorcycle…throw an inflatable kayak on the back of the dual sport motorcycle and go off into the woods for a few days…bring my backpacking gear on my bicycle and go overnight bike packing in the woods…any adventure that has a combination of boots, bikes, boats and backpacks are top notch in my book!

I love adventure and I love gear. Period.
